May is Asthma Awareness Month

May is Asthma Awareness Month, a time to focus and educate friends, family, and patients about asthma and to promote resources that increase awareness of the seriousness of asthma, which is a serious, chronic respiratory disease that can be controlled.
The Indiana Joint Asthma Coalition (InJAC) has been working to reduce the burden of asthma in Indiana for over twenty years. One of the main ways the coalition does this is to provide a free asthma summit designed to educate residents in the state of Indiana and particularly people with asthma in a virtual format that is easy to access.
On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, InJAC will host the annual summit to explore Asthma Care for all on World Asthma Day. This year the summit will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST and will focus on environmental triggers and actions that can be taken to improve the environment in your home. Children’s asthma outcomes will also be highlighted as well. Find out more and register here.
While May is Asthma Awareness month, the Indiana Joint Asthma Coalition (InJAC) works year-round to make strong connections throughout our state by holding bi-monthly meetings and providing resources on asthma throughout the year. You can find asthma resources on the InJAC webpage.
